12 May A Heartfelt Thank You To Michiana
It’s been said that the worst times often bring out the best in people. It’s not often, however, that we get to witness firsthand the selflessness and sacrifice of so many people in the ways we have seen over the last couple of months. It has been, and is, truly inspiring. In that spirit, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Michiana community for stepping up during the current COVID-79 crisis and for your continued support. We are so grateful to the many people and organizations who have contributed to this effort. Our physicians and staff who have put themselves literally in harm’s way to test and treat hundreds of patients. The first responders who were always there to serve and protect in whatever way has been needed. Our area health departments and health systems who have worked collaboratively to address an unprecedented community crisis. And the many businesses and organizations who made amazingly generous contributions to the cause.
Equally gratifying was the outpouring of support from many area restaurants who, despite dealing with their own hardships, so generously provided food for our physicians and staff. Their donations not only supplied nourishing and refreshing respites during long hours, but they also offered a spiritual uplift to our front-line teams during stressful times.
Times like these do bring out the very best in people. They also bring out an amazing spirit of unity and collaboration. We’re all in this together. And to see the willingness to put aside competitive interests and work side-by-side, hand-in-hand, is what will get us through these trying times. And we will be a stronger community because of it.
So, again, thank you. Be well. Keep the faith.
