Melissa Bartoszewicz, N.P.

Melissa Bartoszewicz, D.N.P., a family practice board-certified nurse practitioner, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Indiana University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Valparaiso University. She has worked with the Department of Cardiology since 2009, first as a rounding nurse, and now as a provider of cardiology care.

Bartoszewicz’s love of cardiology was first sparked as a floor nurse on a medical/surgical/telemetry unit in California and was nurtured by the cardiologists at The South Bend Clinic. After mentoring with Dr. Nasser for three years, she returned to school for her doctorate degree to pursue a provider role as a nurse practitioner in the care of cardiology patients. She has been trained in the areas of general cardiology, interventional cardiology, peripheral arterial disease management, structural heart disease and electrophysiology.

She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, an invitation-only nursing honor society comprising members who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship and exceptional achievements in nursing.

In her spare time, Bartoszewicz enjoys gardening, home remodeling, and spending time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys Notre Dame Football (Go Irish!) and the Chicago Cubs.

Melissa practices downtown at The South Bend Clinic’s main campus.
