Jonathan completed his undergraduate studies at Hope College in Holland, Ml with a degree in exercise science and kinesiology. His love and experience in intercollegiate baseball guided him toward a career in sports medicine. He went on to earn his medical degree at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago. He completed his training with a three year surgical residency at St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit, MI. During his residency he was exposed to a wide variety of foot and ankle pathologies and trauma from the inner city and outskirts of Detroit.
Dr. Deming began with the South Bend Clinic in 2012 and has since achieved certification from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons in both foot and rear foot/ankle reconstruction along with becoming a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. He has maintained his interest in sports medicine as an active member of the American Association of Podiatric Sports Medicine and is involved in the local athletic community volunteering spare time with area high schools, running groups, races and events around town. Along with sports medicine, he specializes in treating bunions, flat foot deformities, muscle tendon and ligament injuries, and chronic ankle pain and instability. He is trained and certified in total ankle joint replacement and does trauma of both the foot ankle.
In his spare time, Jonathan is most interested in spending time with his wife and two children going to the zoo, the park, on bike rides, nature hikes, or family trips. You also may see him running around town, playing basketball, baseball, working out, golfing, skiing, wakeboarding, working in his yard, or whatever else he can find to stay active and healthy.
