Laura Albright, M.D. has wanted to be a physician since the age of 10, when a brain tumor sadly claimed the life of her 13 year old cousin. Originally, she began medical school with the goal to be an oncologist because of this history but found family medicine to be her true calling. She loves getting to know her patients and their families on a personal level and being able to care for them over a long term setting. Being able to take care of all ages and a broad range of ailments means practicing medicine never gets boring, and she treasures that being a family medicine physician allows her to educate her patients in a more in-depth manner. She believes this is the key to helping any patient succeed in their health goals.
Laura has a special affinity for women’s health issues and the management of chronic disease. She loves caring for children as well but finds that any age group has its own unique appeal.
In her spare time, Laura can usually be found reading a good book or seeing a fun movie. She loves to go out to dinner with friends. She enjoys circuit training and walking. Her passion lies in traveling and art, whether that’s to Disney World with her mother (continuing a longstanding childhood tradition) or to Western Europe or even Asia. She believes seeing other places and getting to know something new helps create cultural understanding and fosters a deeper understanding of an ever more complicated world.
