NurseWise, a professional nurse-triage service is available for the purpose of giving you safe and appropriate advice or direction. They utilize protocols approved by the pediatricians. This service is not meant to replace the physician on-call, but rather as another option for information when you need help making a decision.
Physician on-call: there is a pediatrician on-call at all times. If you feel you must speak to the pediatrician on-call, you may request that the NurseWise service page the physician on-call.
When you call NurseWise, please be prepared with your child’s date of birth and a brief statement of what is your primary concern. This information is helpful to them so they can begin to “Triage” or sort through and prioritize calls. After the initial intake, your call will go to a Registered Nurse for additional information and instructions or advice.

Patient families across northern Indiana can now consult with the pediatric specialists from Riley Hospital here at South Bend Clinic as opposed to making the drive to Indianapolis.
Riley physicians provide services in cardiology, diabetes, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, and rheumatology within the South Bend Clinic pediatrics department.
South Bend Clinic is there when our patients need us. Our pediatricians are the only ones with evening and weekend hours in the regions. You can schedule pediatric visits online and have outpatient surgery right at our facility. Because our doctors are familiar with a patient’s history, less time is required to gather information and prescribe care.
We have the largest physician-owned, multi-specialty group in Indiana. Doctors come to South Bend Clinic because of the support we offer. We handle the administrative duties and free them to just ‘be doctors.’ Because of this, we draw the best pediatricians in the area.
