Jennifer Snyder, FNP.
Q: What first sparked your interest in healthcare, and what inspired you to become an Advanced Practice Provider?
A: Medical research and how the human body works fascinated me and sparked my interest in healthcare. The ability to make a significant and profound difference in patients’ lives is what inspired me to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Q: Was there a person or experience that influenced your career path?
A: Many of my family members are nurses, and my mom was an X‑ray technician, so this definitely influenced my career path. Many medical discussions took place at family events.
Q: What do you find most meaningful about the work you do each day?
A: The most meaningful part of being a Family Nurse Practitioner is the direct impact that I have on all aspects of my patients’ lives. I am both personally and professionally fulfilled by being a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Q: What’s one lesson you’ve learned from your patients?
A: I have learned the ability to be empathic to my patients’ situations. I am able to put myself in their particular situation and help them with their emotional and physical issues.
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work, or what’s your favorite way to recharge?
A: I spend a lot of my time watching my son play baseball and will continue to enjoy this as he graduates high school next year and will be continuing his baseball career in college. I like to recharge by traveling with family as well.
Q: What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
A: I have traveled to all states in the U.S. except for Alaska, and this is on my bucket list to travel there soon.
